KL was a bit of a let down for the two of us, but I think that’s because we’d come from Singapore where things are clean and modern with a beautiful China Town, an interesting Little India and some delicious food. We then headed to Melaka where again there was a China Town which again was very impressive so arriving in yet another China Town, which was more gritty with many people and markets, just didn’t grab us. I think it could have had a different impression on us if we hadn’t started in the other two cities mentioned above. Then again on second thoughts, I think that the smells of street food combined with drain smells would have done the trick otherwise!!

People also tend to stare a lot, and catcall even though you are well covered and accompanied by your husband. This was discussed with other female tourists who had also felt that.. Anyway, can’t fall in love with every city we visit, there are bound to be some that don’t grab us.

We did quite enjoy the Petronas Towers, the landmarks of Kuala Lumpur. Standing 452 meters high, shining in the sunlight was very impressive and we used this time to walk around this part of the city and eating at some very well priced food stalls. Other than this, we don’t have much to write home about.
