PERU - Expenses & Accomodation

For those who plan to visit Peru one day, this could be useful, similar blogs have helped us work out our budget and accommodation during the planning stages & trip.

0 °C

We spent 21 days in Peru staying in hostels in private rooms with private bathrooms mainly, almost all had free WiFi. We ate out most of the time but occasionally made the odd lunch or dinner.

The “Transport” part below includes 1 local flight; several inter-city buses and a few taxis in Lima. The inter city buses varied between rubbish (stay away from Power!) and very nice (Cruz del Sur).

The “Extras” part includes our 2-day Inca Trail booked with a tour operator in Cusco, a tour of the Sacred Valley and museums.

Cusco is very touristy and unfortunately this also means that prices are really expensive and often quoted in US $ (accommodation and transport) and if you want to pay in Soles they often convert it with an unfavourable exchange rate

All amounts are in US dollars

Accommodation:....................................$ 476
Food:.....................................................$ 733
Transport:..............................................$ 364
Extras:...................................................$ 1498
TOTAL:...................................................$ 3071

Per day for 2 pax:....................................$ 146
